BINDING ARBITRATION is what this is. "Binding" means once the decision is made, that is THE END 100%. There are no more bites at the apple.
When you start a lawsuit or arbitration, you bring in EVERY party you think may be even remotely culpable and weed them out one by one. To keep amending pleadings to add defendants all of the time would be a waste of time and money and possible malpractice.
Your mom may have been right about some things, but under the LAW, there is actual set of rules that everyone must play by and her advice would put CYDY at a disadvantage.
