Thanks to you and dfwl28 for the links.
The fusion of brain cells is activated by the fusogen present in the virus. The fusogen uses microtubules in it's fusion action. Microtubules are dependent on MAP2 which is upregulated by MAPK. Leronlimab downregulates MAPK which should reduce the formation of fused brain cells. Which seems to be the result seen in our Long Covid trial.
From the study on brain cell fusion they use CA-2+ as a marker for fusogen. Which suggests that the fusogens present in the virus are CA-2+ activated. Since leronlimab also downregulates CA-2+ this may be an additional way it can prevent brain cell fusion.
