Not sure where you get the 27M shares sold. The filings I've seen split across 3 companies never added up to that. Here's the other filing.

Not that it matters whether it was 22M or 27M.
Maybe like all of us, they thought the sp would take off on the launch of Market.
Or they shorted the hell out of Verb. This is why we have people looking into this mischief.
People should be happy since there were so many concerns by a few, Ault was doing a hostile takeover of Verb. Nuts I know, but it's a concern written in the bashers handbook right before the CEO is on vacation and right after, I created everything in less than 1000 lines of code.
