I never looked at Amazon Live before, but just did. One big difference, at least on my iPad using Chrome, is that while the livestream is going clicking on a product opens a whole new tab in the browser and you can’t see the video while looking at the product or purchasing it. On a computer you could move it to a separate window but you don’t need to do that with Market. Also at first it told me my device isn’t supported, but when I clicked on “Request Desktop Site” in Chrome it started to work. Market doesn’t mind Chrome on the iPad at all, you don’t need to switch it to Desktop site. Anyway that’s what I discovered giving Amazon Live a quick try for the first time. No thanks, I’ll stick with Market.
I also don’t doubt Amazon asks for a bigger percentage than Market does.
I clicked on a few and saw no use of multiple cameras, although to be fair that doesn’t prove that Amazon doesn’t support multiple cameras.
Anyway the livestream selling market is so big there’s room for many companies to get a piece of it as it is just starting to catch on here in the US. No one is going to capture all of it and at this stage there is plenty of opportunity for others besides Amazon to establish themselves as players in the space with their livestream platforms. Amazon doesn’t appear to be pushing it very hard, if so why isn’t a way to get to it shown very visibly from Amazon’s website? It may be there somewhere but it is not easy to find if it is.
