In my family...I am called "Iron Man"...so my mettle/metal is iron...and as many from my part of the world...we have a condition called hemochromatosis...we hold on to iron in our system...which requires a blood-letting (Phlebotomy) about four times a year...some more...some less...
Cracking/breaking isn't part of the vernacular...I think it's called going/staying long.
