So Samsung acquires Biogen's piece of joint venture Bioepis for $2.5 B. Who cares? What does that have to do with the price of tealeaves in China? Probably nothing -- but. then again; if Samsung would have acquired Biogen itself for the rumored price of $40B, that would have destroyed the Samsung/CYDY BO hypothesis. And, for a measly 2.5 B (chump change for Samsung), with 1.5 B of that payable over 2 years, Samsung will now have complete control of a biotech with marketing, sales, and distribution personnel in place and operating.
Meanwhile, back at the CYDY farm: we have a 52 week low sp ( even with the albatross that was Nader gone); Antonia is the interim president with no increase in pay; 3 of the 4 remaining board members, including the new chairperson, have other full time jobs; and there is still no tangible evidence that the search for a new CEO has commenced, notwithstanding that the board knew by the end of last week (and probably earlier) that it was going to terminate Nader (and likely at a substantial cost to its limited cash reserves). Hmm.
More rank speculation you say. Yes indeed. Guilty as charged (again). Now I'll settle in for a quiet weekend to find out who will play in the Super Bowl. By then, I hope we'll know what the hell is going on the farm.
