Interesting. Could be remembering this wrong- but thought in 2021 the FDA effectively shut down covid vaccine clinical trials- even if nearing Phase 3- outside of the ones given EAU/approved (Pfizer, Moderna, J&J). Them basically saying additional vaccines outside these three BP were not needed. (FDA took a big hit in my personal estimation of them with this- failing to look ahead at access to vaccines here and abroad.)

TIA - for clarification/correction from anyone in the know.

IMO FDA is under recent pressure for expanded vaccines (across variants) and expeditious therapeutic trials and approvals- specifically being called out. Am trying to get some comfort that this Army vaccine clinical trial might indicate an informal retraction or even moving away from the appearance of the- 'oh well, we have enough of that stuff so we are done'- FDA strategy.
