"Direct control" is not determined by one statement from a CEO as you quoted. There is a legality to things that you may not be aware of.
And NO ONE really "runs the LLC" for a film being made. It is owned by the major studio/network but there are legal reasons why there is an LLC for every tv show and movie that is made, even though they are all owned by a parent company, and that legal reason is to avoid direct responsibility if something goes wrong.
Don't confuse ignoring facts with not understanding them.
