Dr Bones posted a reply from Leo, regarding heparin effects on Brilacidin, some might find interesting:
Dr. bones post:
Thank you for the reply. I contacted Leo regarding this and this is his response:
“Thanks for the email.
We are aware of the paper and are pleased with the testing done by Arizona and UCSF, including their insights on mechanism.
Given heparin is dosed at such low concentrations, we wouldnt anticipate any large effect of Heparin on Brilacidin's blocking property in the COVID trial.
Moreover, Brilacidin's virucidal property is more tied to its hydrophobic characteristics and likely would not be not impacted by Heparin.
Of course to know with more certainty we need to read out our trial results.
We look forward to learning about our trial results anticipated to be unblinded and reported this week.”
