This is a good summary of Bossche's reasoning which is based on the axioms of evolutionary biology and immunology. Interestingly, Malone says that the first problem he faces trying to explain to the public what's wrong with mass vaccination in the midst of a pandemic is that the majority of US population is not familiar with the basics of the Darwinian selection. This is how our failed educational system helps the evolution of Covid19 virus. Everything in our world is interconnected. I would only add to this summary that according to Bossche it is the pool of unvaccinated people, whose natural immune system has not been suppressed by vaccination, that continues to dilute the share of more virulent strains in the overall viral load in circulation. And of course achieving herd immunity is possible only on the basis of the innate immune system. This is why countries with the highest percent of vaccinated population and the diminishing share of unvaccinated set themselves most exposed to the disaster of the evolutionary virus escape.
