Why would Squires enter into a deal that he had no intention of completing in the first instance. I am sure that entire business community would evaluate such a person's credibility and character. This would be disastrous for QTM because it would mean that Squires could not be trusted at a time when he states that QTM cannot go forward without a partner with money. The rest of your supposition would attest to Squires extreme selfishness, not allowing the company to stay alive, possibly without him, even though he would probably be a retired multimillionaire, or may still have some role in the day to day operations and still be rich.
