lol, you've obviously never been sued before. Once the lawyers get involved, you'd be a fool to not defend yourself even if you know you are right.
My insurance company settled a case where they paid out $35k of a $160k claim AFTER we proved that we had no involvement. The response to my question why was that it was "go away" money. Some actuary computed that this would be cheaper than proving our case in court.
You don't want lawsuits? Tell that to the other party.
I would be more upset if the Company wasn't fighting back.
