Excellent, thanks for investigating. When someone sets up and account, they usually ask a bunch of questions including what your skill level is. Some of the questions will turn on some abilities, but as I mentioned, a lot of people don't know the type of account they have.
I was surprised that at etrade, you can signup to loan out your shares with a non margin account. Maybe they can't get enough shares just from margin accounts?
For anyone with etrade, I noticed lately in addition to
Good for day and Good for 60 days
They now have Good Until Date (GTD) when you do a limit order. They say you have the ability to put a date up to 2 years into the future. The times I've tried it wouldn't let me and I even subtract a day. I just threw a date on it for next year and it was happy. I like that better than the 60 day option.
