I actually think the 5% group have less shares than anyone thinks. Paulson was replaced by Fife so to think they are pooling their shares together under the same goal is not likely. Also, the whole strategy for paulson and their investors was to get warrants for cash and sell a chunk of them on every uptick so they could re-use the funds for the next fund raise. They likely do not have that many shares left.
Also, as a long term investor, there is no way I would get behind this group. If i had a strong dislike for Nader and his team (which i don't) i would never blindly back a group whose whole strategy is to dis-credit current mgmt. It is easy to complain but very difficult to come up with how to do better. they have not made the effort to explain how they are better at all.
Thirdly, I think there is a possibility that some f the original 5% might be realizing who they are investing with and are not liking the situation. Some may be jumping ship realizing the other investors did not welcome the idea with open arms as their ego's convinced then they would.
