1. Three months ago my old high school buddy tells me his wife has stage 4 terminal pancreatic cancer. She was diagnosed over a year ago and had gone through all of the chemo/radiation normal medical procedures. Her current oncologist had tried to do a whiffle procedure in January but finds 2 spots on her liver when he opens her up.
2. Oncologist closes her up, sends her home and tells her there is nothing he can do for her.
3. I immediately tell him about leronlimab and the cancer basket trial and contact Dr Kelly for them
4. I find out from Dr Kelly that that trial is closed but that CYDY would try to help her under the Right to Try law if oncologist would contact him.
5. Oncologist refuses to contact Dr Kelly, says it's a unapproved covid drug and he's never heard of Right to Try law.
6. I suggest to them that they fire the asshat oncologist and find a Dr who will help them get Leronlimab. They do this, find a new sympathetic Dr. and fill out paperwork to get leronlimab under Right to Try law.
7. Just got a text from them that paperwork has been signed and faxed to Dr Kelly and they are hoping the first vial gets to their new Dr. this week. After first injection she will get vials at home and self inject.
I will keep the board updated as I get more information. I pray it's not too late for her!
