shale formations are often associated with oil but the oil is usually trapped in nonporous rock -thus the fracking revolution in the USA to open up such rock and release the oil
in ZN's first well-the exploratory one on this license- ZN encountered oil in nonporous rocks- but it was not commercially viable-and though a good flow of liquids resulted from local acidification it was again not commercially viable
maps of shale formations in Israel -perhaps ca 30 locations-have been posted on these boards
but to my memory this is the first mention ZNOG has made of such on their current license and maps dont show shale on their current license- so that is possibly new geological knowledge
but Israel does not allow fracking so they are continuing on to their zones of interest- which apparently result from their 3D survey.
