Further clarification:
The SEC adopted the Amendment to Rule 15c2-11 on November 30, 2020 (this is where the incorrect idea of an August, 2021 deadline, 9 months later, came from).
However Rule 15c2-11 was made effective one month later on Dec. 28, 2020, so the actual compliance deadline is Sept. 28, 2021.
