Hopefully we will see some positives changes come from this. Here is a few that I would like to see:

1. Short positions >5% disclosed just as long position disclosures are required by SEC.
2. Inability to short greater than 100% of available shares. This should already be impossible if market makers, brokers and hedge funds played by the rules (i.e. didn't naked short shares)....or the current rules were enforced.
3. Better enforcement of regulations and larger penalties/fines for those who violate these regulations.
