Pie is served for dessert less often than cake, but both of them get pushed on you like it's the weirdest thing in the world if you don't want any. It's an underdiscussed form of abuse in my book.
C'mon, have some cake. Everybody likes cake. Have some cake. Cake. It's just cake, who doesn't love cake? Have just a little slice, it's Carl's birthday! Caaaaaaaaake.
I'm notoriously averse to cake and pie. I'll eat it, mind you. Sometimes I'll even like it. But usually I prefer to pass. I'd rather save that space for more wine. I'll do you one better and add that smores are a dumb dessert. At least the way everyone eats them, with a toasted marshmallow in between graham crackers with a solid room temperature hunk of chocolate. I'll just separately eat some chocolate and some toasted marshmallow in that case. You gotta make that "chips and queso" style and melt the chocolate and toasted marshmallows together over the fire and then scoop it out with graham cracker. You're welcome in advance.
Now that we have that out of the way I'd like to point out that it's great to see new people jumping into the fray. I rather enjoyed Harpitdown's first post, including his opener and his callback to pie. (To be read in a BDV - Bad Dickensian Voice) Well done, sir!
I'd urge anyone else who has been reading along with us for a while to post something.
It's ok if you don't have the ability to dig deep into the technicals like I do. Or that you aren't at a PhD level of understanding about our science like me. That you lack the c-suite skillset I've developed to analyze the company trajectory. I'm an outlier. A loner, Dottie. A rebel.
Don't let that stop you. You have something to offer. Maybe it's comedic relief, or you're very good at writing message board screenplays. There's something there and I invite you to figure it out with the rest of us.
C'mon, post something. You'll like it. Post. Just post a little something. Come post. We're all posting. Who doesn't like to post? It's just a post. Everyone does it here. It's fun. Post. Poooossssssssst.
Finally, if pressed to commit to a white wine to go along with pie I'd go Gewurztraminer or Pinot Gris because they're more fun to say and most people never bother to try them.
If pressed to pick a favorite pie I'd go with chocolate.
If pressed to pick a day our news finally drops I'd go with today after the bell. But that's because I've become the oft-quoted definition of insanity when it comes to these results.
"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
Today's the day!
Nope.
Well then today's the day!
Nope.
It'll be today!
Nope.
C'mooooon TODAY!
Nope.
Today does seem like a good day for it though...
