An appropriately functioning immune system clears the virus.
Leronlimab stops the flogging of the exhausted T cells, allowing them to get back on their feet as it were and resume production of granzyme A and B, which in turn lyses (kills) virally infected cells and halting the production of more visions.
I believe Dr. Patterson et al were describing a patient with chronic active Covid infection, an aberrant condition and one in which viral shedding/infectivity persisted for an unusual length of time.
