Paylocity IPO'd Mar 19, 2014

Their Valuation at IPO was $831.7M

They raised $119.8M at IPO

Their market cap is $11.26B

Stock is at an all time high

What do they do?

Paylocity (NASDAQ: PCTY) is a leading provider of cloud-based payroll and human capital management (HCM) software solutions.

red, what does this have to do with Verb?

Was digging around in Outlook today looking at the Add-ons

You know Verb is coming out with theirs

I saw Vidgrid the closest in their description to one of Verb's product

So I did a little looking

Paylocity Announces Acquisition of VidGrid - April 6, 2020

Hmmmm...

Video-based platform expands Paylocity's product suite to support the future of workplace communication and learning

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/paylocity-anno...00229.html

According Paylocity's 10K, they purchased Vidgrid for $17.2M

According to VidGrid's website...
"THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD LEVERAGE VIDGRID TO ENGAGE CUSTOMERS, EMPLOYEES, AND STUDENTS."

They list 6 customers on their website and have 13 customer stories

Let's be generous and say Vidgrid had 9,999 users. If they had 10K, they would have said tens of thousands

Vidgrid Starting Price $500/mo Billed Annually.

So let's call the 'starting price' $6K a year to make it easy

Want to see a free demo of their interactive video technology?

Click the BLUE button that says... 'Interactive Demo'

https://www.vidgrid.com/product/?t=converse

My takeaways

Paylocity's paid $1,720 or more a user to land some video tech
This tech reminds me of how annoying youtube popups are and this stops your video as well
Verb interactive tech best in class
Verb Lowest cost
Verb most reviewed

But wait, there is more...

Paylocity Announces Acquisition of Samepage - Nov 16, 2020

"Online collaboration platform expands Paylocity's product suite, reaffirms commitment to creating the most modern workforce solutions"

https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/payl...73329.html

Here's the kicker...

Looked in Paylocity 10K about of VidGrid's revenue

"The results from this acquisition have been included in the Company’s consolidated financial statements since the closing of the acquisition. Pro forma information was not presented because the effect of the acquisition was not material to the Company’s consolidated financial statements. The goodwill associated with this acquisition is not deductible for income tax purposes. Direct costs related to the acquisition were recorded as General and administrative expenses as incurred."

If you haven't started to figure out the big picture and need some help

These companies really don't care about revenue or number of users

They are assembling a wholistic solution that includes video, communication and collaboration.

I posted today Zoom just realized this and why they are adding email, messaging, calendaring, etc.

Some hoping for a MS, SF, etc. buyout one day. Doesn't have to be that large of a company and they really wouldn't buy on the open market as some have suggested.

If someone wants to offer Verb $1,720 or more a user (aka $2B) for better tech, customers, team, innovation...

That day will come...

But for now, I get a chuckle when I watch this video thinking of another place
