I just go back to the early 60's of what I remember of the times ...
In the south it was Black & White
In the north though it was more refined and ethical white on white. Secret societies checks and balances. Little trust.
Seemed minor unless Protestant against Roman Catholic. This is the time the Roman Catholic Church made it move on the United States with a growing influence year after year from 1960.
The only thing trusted less than a Roman Catholic was a Jew or Socialist/Communist
