Dr Viro: I am genuinely curious what you find so intriguing about this paper. While I believe the use of CRISPR as a tool (in this and other research) is remarkable (an understatement), the clinical application from this study is years away at best. Further, my understanding is that protein “weaknesses” have been identified in other viruses (HIV) but have not translated to therapeutic efficacy.....yet. Please don’t hesitate to provide a different perspective.
