I'd think viral load would need to be drastically reduced, receptors occupied, old marrow dealt with, CD4+ potential reservoirs activated / eliminated (transplant recipient). Otherwise you're just creating a field day for HIV.
Only step I'm not 100% on is the CD4 purge.. anyone know offhand if they can be selectively targeted? Waiting 50+ days for them to die off with no immune backup seems extreme.
Maybe repurpose some HIV ligands?
