Au contraire, the debate here is more about the politicization of scientific people and recommendations rather than the broader (evolutionary, as you put it) scientific process. It is one thing for scientists to question one another and test and retest hypothesis to come to consensus. It is another thing for politicians to disregard the science. Lets not normalize the politicization of science.
