Many vaccines and MABs are targeting viral spike proteins, which can and do undergo change quite frequently (to evade host immunity). It is extremely likely that "successful" vaccines will not protect completely against SARS-Cov-2, just specific strains which carry spikes with the properties the MAB or Vaccine was developed to target. There are already several "minor" strains floating around, this trend will only continue.
