It depends which portion of the virus is targeted by the vaccine. The vaccines are designed to target conserved portions of the virus, those not expected to change with mutations.
Time will how effective vaccines are, both short and long term. It certainly may be that a successful vaccine will need to recreated every year as new strain emerge, just as is done for influenza.
