I may see a different population than your sister. You are of course correct that warfarin is on its way out. Monitoring pt is hard, especially in the elderly without a lot of resources.
Poor and old without a car is a major hurdle for many.
I see quite a number of COPD and RA patients with years on steroids, and many are a wreck (cataracts, osteoporosis, hyperglycemia, incredibly thin/fragile skin).
A world without steroids would be hard or deadly for many patients.
A world where the need for steroids was obviated by leronlimab or other immuno-modulator would be glorious.
I am holding out hope for the latter.
