Warfin is on it's way out, side effects were based on poor monitoring of PT's, steroids have a very low incidence of side effects, it is used as maintenance therapy for those conditions, the worst one that come to mind are avascular necrosis, and a slight risk of infections. My sister the dermatologist has literally thousands of patients on steroids and so far has not seen AVN, it is an idiosyncratic event. I mentioned steroids but there are many modulators, laughingly among them is plaquenil. LOL
