There was some very heavy buying of GILD out of the money calls on April 16. These calls will expire on April 17 and would be worthless unless the price rallied a lot in 24 hours. On April 17 GILD went from 76 to 85 making huge profits for those who bought the calls.

GILD disavowed the leak and the SEC immediately began an investigation of the matter. The author of the Stat article was none other than Adam F.
