And re: the Post Office discussion - how is it that Fedex and UPS can make profits, while the USPS loses $9 billion last year? There is inefficiency somewhere in a system that loses money while others doing essentially the same thing can make money - if they were all private, USPS would have been gone a long time ago. They need to look internally to their processes, not to additional prop-up funding. If they go the way of the dodo bird, I'm sure Fedex and/or UPS and/or a new entrant in the business will take up their slack and make it work - and probably more efficiently.
