An old article (2019) but provides a good review between CCR5 and Alzheimer’s (AD) and some reference to Parkinsons, MS and stroke. Would love to hear input from docs and scientists on this board. Also, did we get a timeline when the Alzheimer’s trial would start?

“The definite mechanism of AD remains unclear, but our understanding of AD has far exceeded the two typical pathological manifestations—Aβ and tau. CCR5 expression was strongly related to microglia and inflammation, which validated an inseparable relationship between inflammation, Alzheimer’s disease, and CCR5. Increased expression of CCR5 in the CNS is an inflammatory response to many neuropathological diseases, e.g., stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and Rasmussen encephalitis.”
