I just had the surreal conversation I thought I would have with the CDC (Center for Disease Control).
I thought I would demonstrate to myself, yet once again, the curse of Cassandra at work in this crazy world. I have tried before to communicate to media, doctors and institutions, both government and private, a piece of information I thought they should know or pass along (amplify) to the public, society at large.
I'm just a guy trying to use his brain and, occasionally, come up with something interesting. For example, I confirmed early on, mostly from Dr. Gregory Poland, who is the head of Vaccine Research at the Mayo Clinic, that you can only catch the Covid-19 virus thru your mouth, your nose or your eyes. (Alright, anally too but I won't go there.) Wearing a mask, therefore, is an extremely important part of fighting the virus.
This was when the Surgeon General was screaming, "Don't wear masks!" I, of course, was not the only one pushing for people to wear masks but who would listen to me?
But the thing that really bugged me about this debate was that all the mask advocates were thinking of the masks as filters. They also wanted to say you needed a "good mask." I, on the other hand, wanted to weigh in and scream, "No, you do not need a great mask! People touch their faces constantly and any mask will tend to prevent you from contract transmission of the virus from your hands to your face! And any mask is better than nothing! Just look at the record of transmission in places that do wear masks!"
Only Dr. Poland responded to me out of my many outreach attempts to be heard by media, doctors and institutions. He said he agreed with me!
So tonight I decided to call up the CDC and have a chat with them about Cytodyn, Leronlimab, and, as Southern Gold and Doctor580 have called it, the most Effective drug Ever Tested against Covid-19 in a randomized, double-blinded drug trial.
I talked to a nice woman at the CDC. I asked her, "Does the CDC have an ombudsman?" She said, "How do you spell that?" .... "Nope, I did a search of the CDC data base and came up with nothing."
I said, "OK, will you do another search for me? Will you do a search for "Cytodyn"?" "Nope, nothing." "How about "Leronlimab"? I'll spell it." .... "Nope, nothing." Just as I suspected!
So then I prevailed on her to hear me out about a little company with a blockbuster anti-Covid-19 drug that the CDC doesn't seem to know about but probably should. She was intrigued and interested and took some notes and she said she would pass the information up to another level of bureaucracy and I should hear something by email in a day.
All of this went exactly as I thought it would.
This isn't conspiracy stuff, an evil invisible hand at work, Big Pharma, the Deep State, blah, blah, blah. It isn't even bureaucracy! It's just insularity! Doctors don't talk to doctors, family members won't listen to other family members who tell them to seek out "Leronlimab", institutions don't talk to other institutions, media "ain't got the time" to listen so only the loudest voices get heard. Everyone has their filters up. Nobody has ombudsman! The best way, and usually the only way, for small voice to be heard is thru connections. That's my experience.
So what do I want from the CDC? I want them to know about Cytodyn and Leronlimab, the best treatment for Covid-19 out there! I want it in there database for starters because they can't control disease if they don't even know about it! I want it to show up in the New York Times's "Treatment Tracker".
I want the CDC to say, "Where do we get some of this stuff? Why hasn't the National Institute of Health told us about this? Why hasn't Cytodyn gotten $1.6 Billion for their drug even tho they have fantastic results in their drug trials and Moderna has squat? What do you mean there is no manufacturing of this drug of any consiquence? What's the holdup?"
Connections! We have to keep trying to put a bug in the right person's ear. It's all most of us can do! Surreal!
If you do have someone who should hear about the Cytodyn and Leronlimab trials, the article at Targeted Oncology is a good one.
