You need to do independent research. All the large companies have received billions in grants from the Federal and State governments along with grants from philanthropic organizations. It has nothing to do with company size, it has to do with free money. The large companies have specialists devoted to grant writing and they receive lots of them.
Small companies don’t have the capability like large companies do for that. Plus, if the technology is novel and a grant is received, the fine print clearly states the government receives an unlimited free license to the technology. Wouldn’t that leave all of us as shareholders with no revenue from the government if they use the technology?
