With all due respect to Dr. Patterson, 4-6 months is not "normal." Recent "original" articles published in NEJM were all preprinted about 7-8 weeks prior to having been reviewed and published. And what practical significance his research can have in a health crisis situation like this if it takes 6 months to review and publish it?
