A company can choose any date "as of" or any date in the future to pay a dividend.
i.e. Dr Dalton can choose, all shareholders as of 5/31/2019 qualify for a Dividend as an example.
I chose a date almost 1 year ago, as Dr Dalton has a number of times mentioned his Long Time Shareholders, who are his Long Time Supporters.
