In Europe they look into Valsartan. Same mechanism. Valsartan is reducing the blood pressure, so hopefully less liquids leak into the lungs. With less liquids in the lung bladders the oxygen pressure of the ventilator might be kept lower, so less damage of the lungs.
With support of the Netherlands Heart Institute they are going to do a study in a few Dutch Academic Hospitals, starting this week with 650 patients: 325 Valsartan and 325 placebo. Results to be expected in a few months from now.
