Conspiracy theories aren't legit here. Homozygotes with Delta32 have shortened life expectancies and are predisposed to influenza of all things. Maraviroc sucks both in terms of efficacy and side effects. The FDA knows this.
The CCR5 receptor is not some systemic poison. The seeming efficacy of leronlimab appears to be a magic key effect that hits the receptor just right with no side effects. Honestly, this appears true but is VERY hard to believe, and I completely understand the initial skepticism by legislative authorities. The recent events in cancer and CV are almost unbelievable. Michael Crichton could not write this story better and the chance of this happening is about equivalent to Jurassic Park (also theoretically possible) being true.
Also remdesivir is not approved either. FDA says they want a randomized clinical trial there also. The difference with leronlimab may be if it is close to 100% effective, then this cannot be due to chance Plus they have lab data showing immune reversal while Remdesivir only has patient clinical condition data? Again, this seems almost impossible but appears true. I am still beyond speechless that a nontraditional CEO like NP along with Dr. Patterson might save the world. If I ran a movie studio and someone sent me that script, I would have tossed it in the trash. Truth may end up crazier than fiction.
Just IMO
