I think you took that a bit too defensively. The tone of voice was entirely relaxed, I don't believe anyone 'lit you up' and I felt as if my replies were fully aligned with normal discourse. I simply wanted to elaborate and provide a counterpoint which I feel I did. Then, for your own potential interest, I included some of my own anecdotes. If you took that as an attack then I'm not sure what I can say other than it simply wasn't. What I posted is a reply I would send to any college in a scientific discussion and a type of reply I would expect back. I believe the only word that could be construed as negative towards you is 'misunderstood' which, in my opinion, is a completely benign and informative word when having any discussion. Perhaps, instead of feeling lit up, you should lighten up.
