I lived there for 8 years, years ago. SLC, Provo and Ogden (surrounding SLC) are a close knit culture. They are very nice and respectful folks. I enjoyed living there even though I was a different religion. But they don't judge. I talked to a past tennis double partner that I played with for years. He was in a meeting with his service team when it shook. They were rattled. I could tell in his voice when I called him about an hour later to check on him. The good part is all the children were out of school and safe in there home environment and not somewhere foreign. I don't know if they have a earthquake school drill like many of the west coast schools have. Let's hope no more aftershocks!
