The declaration of a National Emergency by the President opens access to $50B in emergency funds. The COVID-19 pandemic left unchecked has the obvious threat to human life as well as the potential to send the world-wide economy into a recession/depression.

It is in the government’s (public) and business community (private) best interest to work together to put plans in place to minimize the disruption and damage to the best of their ability. There is going to be a ton of money thrown at this pandemic to keep the economy from getting crushed and to medically reduce the amount of casualties.

IMO today’s press conference began to address testing for the virus as well as some economic plans. What was not discussed was treatment for the virus. I personally believe treatment is the most important immediate need as a vaccine will take at a minimum 12-18 months and even then may not be fully effective.

If Brilacidin is proven to help respiratory issues and other symptoms associated with COVID-19, I believe there will be an extremely strong demand as a treatment to lessen the fatality rate. If the fatality rate is proven to decrease it will dramatically quell overall panic if COVID-19 is tamed down to be viewed as a flu virus that has a treatment available. Wall Street and the population in general do not like uncertainty. The stakes are extremely high and if the science addresses the problem, money will not be an issue.
