I can’t speak from a trading perspective as I haven’t attempted to buy open market or sell any shares with my Fidelity account, but they were/are one of the few or only broker that accepted my stock certificate for deposit.

Not being allowed to trade seems odds and more like they have your shares marked as restricted or something else with your account?
