That is not quite accurate. The currently negotiated USMCA leaves the exclusivity as per the current law, which is 8 years in Canada and in certain situations 0 in Mexico -- it does not reduce them. That being said, it certainly would have been better to implement the 10 years of exclusivity as was originally proposed in the USMCA.
