FYI. (not political, just some facts....)
Are you all aware of one of the stipulations the Democrats demanded be included in the USMCA yesterday in order to sign off on it, was to change the US biological drug patent protection period from the proposed 10 years (previously was 5 years under NAFTA) now down to ZERO years... in Canada and Mexico.
The patent period will remain 12 years in the U.S.
Which means, if Leronlimab gets approved in the US, no matter what the cost is here, people can go to either Mexico or Canada and get it much much cheaper almost immediately (once someone develops a copy cat formula, which, btw, won't have to go through the FDA). So, essentially, this will drive prices even higher for FDA-approved biological prescription drugs in the U.S. (and lower sales for Leronlimab, if it ever gets to market)
