The May 2018 PR states that Novartis licensed the “technology”. It goes on to say that there is an undisclosed drug but the significance here is that they paid BDD for the technology which means that any other compound that uses the technology likely must have the authorization from both BDD and Novartis. This is why it can be hyperlinked without issue. Why would Novartis pay upfront fees to BDD if they can go utilize the technology to anyone including competitors. Won’t happen! Novartis gave BDD credibility for their technology and will reap the rewards when they use it for other compounds. They will also have a say to what compounds BDD uses it for. They would not allow IPIX to utilize the tech if it was directly related to a competing compound. This is all assuming there is a non-compete clause which we can assume there is! Novartis is a major conglomerate that boasts BDD. Alfasigma had business dealings with Novartis (Zelnorm).
