Yes, indeed the first 5-6 months of the year are almost completely left out.
There's only the mTNBC trial mentioned as 1-2 months to get the trial running being unrealistic (11 months, more realistic, RP would do it in 9 months).
But RP was right there sitting next to NP seemingly having no objections against "anyday now", "soon".
You would expect RP to mention how hard he exactly worked in those 5-6 preceding months to get things done. None of that.
It does look like RP is mainly complaining how he could not get things done after july 1st when he factually knew Cydy wanted to let him go and Cydy acted like that.
