Rory mentioned SAP a few times and I noticed SAP is at the DSA conference. Not Oracle, not Microsoft, not Salesforce, but SAP.
I was curious why SAP, so took a look
Last year SAP bought CallidusCloud for $2.4B. The prior quarter before acquisition their SaaS revenue was $54.6 million, an increase of 30% over the same quarter in the prior year. Professional services revenue was $14.1 million so a total of $69M but keep in mind this is not recurring like the SaaS. So they got bought for 10x annual revenue. 16 years after their IPO, they were still losing money
They went public Nov 20, 2003 raising $70M at a valuation of $314.8M.
Their revenue the prior year (2002) was $16M
If you do the math, CallidusCloud was valued at ~20x revenue. That was $16M in 2003 dollars.
VERB's revenue is likely to be at least $16M if 2019 dollars. What valuation should an investor assign?
In addition to their CRM and other solutions CallidusCloud has a product called Direct Selling Pro
"Direct Selling Pro is an enterprise-grade cloud solution for managing real-time volumes, genealogy and awards"
Makes sense that they are there and not Microsoft, Oracle or Saleforce
