Under normal circumstances the procurement pipeline process (which includes that extensive DISA & MITRE testing) for new items takes up to 18 months unless deemed mission essential for ongoing ops. That pipeline was disrupted by the political chaos/gridlock in D.C. I am as frustrated as you are with this!
