There has always been the ability to coat silicon wafers with IR QD and get a small boost. Would a QD coating last as long as a silicon solar panel or degrade Have to figure in long-term warranty costs.
When I think of tandem QD solar cells, its two layers of complimentary QD Inkjetted separately. Problem there is how much would it slow the R2R process. Efficiency vs cost of production.
