Re: reindeer830 #17603
reindeer, you are absolutely right. The early pr's from deals made some rather forward looking, very optimistic assumptions. Monthly numbers were projected out annually as if repeats were done deals. If we had seen the growth in sales that those early pr's spelled out, early longs would be quite rewarded right now.
I have no doubt that SB did not foresee the difficulties that every startup faces. I don't believe that sales numbers warranted the factories he envisioned. I don't believe that online sales direct to consumers took off like he though they would. I don't think he thought through the debt properly...well, I think we know he didn't think through the debt properly. SB spoke before he was certain on many occasions and it's all come back to roost in the low pps.
I've ALWAYS been a huge fan of the product and the market for this product. Not so much in how SB has handled things. But....I have tried to give a huge pass here knowing first hand what it is like to start a business. AND...I do believe SB is a great salesman, which is what a young product driven company needed.
IMO...the product is so strong and the market is so ready for this, that SB despite his overly aggressive promises is not going to screw it up....make it take longer, yes, completely drop the ball, no.
The fins are strong for a young pinky and risk is low. Don't let loss aversion make your decision. This is still a great penny gamble IMO.
